Mission:    Since our inception, Connecticut Forest & Park Association has known the value of engaging with legislators to ensure that our forests, parks, and trails are protected and well-supported. Since 1897, we have testified before the General Assembly and published a Conservation Agenda to help guide our legislative leaders and state agencies on the issues we monitor. Your voice can greatly impact decisions made by legislators on important issues!     Responsibilities & Duties: There are many ways to become involved with the political process that can range in level of commitment. This can include: Contact your legislators to discuss important conservation issues Attend lobby days or other events at the capitol to show your support Encourage friends, family, and community members to engage on an issue Host rallies or other public policy awareness events Share the CFPA Conservation Agenda Time Commitment: Determined by the volunteer's desire   Desired Skills or Experience:  Good oral and/or written communication skills Knowledge and support of CFPA's stances on important conservation related issues (training and resources available) Understanding of and desire to engage in the political process Benefits:  Connect with like-minded individuals while giving back to an organization you support Impact our state's natural resources by making your voice heard Form a personal relationship with your political leaders
