We are looking for last-minute volunteers to work with our AmeriCorps team to haul pressure-treated lumber (2x8x8"s and 6x6x3"s) for 0.5 miles at the northern end of the Metacomet Trail in Suffield. The wood will be used to build a long stretch of bog bridging in a very muddy area.
This is an open invitation. Come for as long or as short of the day as you like. Make one trip with lumber or make 5 trips- your choice- Anything will help! Please bring work gloves, lots of water, snacks, wear boots and long pants.
This is a great opportunity for community service hours or to pitch in on a trail project if you only have limited time.
Look for the trailhead kiosk on the north side of Rising Corner Rd. Park in grassy area. We will be working south of Rising Corner Rd in Connecticut.
