Join CFPA to move bridge materials into Scovill. The primary work will include loading the lumber onto a rail truck. All tools provided. All skills welcome. Come prepared to get dirty and have fun. We will be working in uneven, rocky and steep terrain. This will be a short event, but extra hands will be very needed.
Please bring water, snacks, rain gear, work gloves, backpack to carry your gear, and any personal items you need to help load lumber. Please be sure to wear long pants & sturdy closed-toe shoes. There is always the risk of poison ivy, mosquitos, and ticks. No pets please.
CFPA's Trails Coordinator, Alex Bradley, will meet you at the Railroad Depo at 10am. Directions to parking are here: Google Directions Link.
Thanks for your support of CFPA and the Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails!
There are two simultaneous work parties happening. The first will load lumber onto the rail truck at the Depot, while the second will help unload the lumber at Scovill and move it to the work site in conjunction with the Connecticut Woodland Conservation Corps.
